Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 July 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and [TODO: registered company name] for your use of Seaworth. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them.

What Seaworth is — and what it isn't

Seaworth aggregates boat listings that are publicly advertised on other marketplaces, removes the duplicates, and adds an independent valuation and price history on top. It is an information service.

  • We do not sell boats, and we are not a broker, dealer or agent for anyone.
  • We are not party to any transaction you enter into with a seller.
  • We do not verify the boats in our index, and we do not inspect or survey them.
  • Listing content — specifications, photographs, asking prices — belongs to the source marketplace and the seller who published it. We link back to the original listing in every case.

Valuations are estimates, not appraisals

A Seaworth valuation is a statistical estimate. It is generated by a model from advertised listing data. It is not a survey, a professional appraisal, a guarantee of value, or financial advice, and it must not be the sole basis for a decision to buy or sell a boat.

Our estimates are built from asking prices, not confirmed sale prices — the price a boat was advertised at is public, the price it actually changed hands for generally is not. Where we show that a comparable boat left the market, we describe it as delisted at its last asking price. We do not know, and never claim, that it sold at that price.

Specifications come from the seller's own listing. If a listing is wrong, our valuation of it will inherit that error. Before committing money to a boat, get a professional survey.

We explain in plain language how the model works, and where it is weak, on our About page.

Your account

You must be at least 16 to hold an account. Keep your credentials confidential — you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else is using it.

You can delete your account at any time, which erases or anonymises your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.

Acceptable use

You may use Seaworth to research boats — for yourself, or professionally on behalf of a client. You may not:

  • scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract our valuations, price history or search results, by any automated means;
  • resell, redistribute or republish our valuations or data, or present them as your own;
  • attempt to reconstruct, reverse-engineer or retrain against our pricing model;
  • circumvent the limits of the free tier, or share a paid account across multiple people; or
  • disrupt the service, probe its security, or access it in a way that degrades it for others.

We rate-limit the service to protect it, and we may block traffic that behaves abusively.

Paid plans, billing and cancellation

Seaworth offers a free tier and a paid tier. The paid tier is available either as a monthly subscription that renews until you cancel, or as a one-time pass that grants access for a fixed period and does not renew. The current prices are always shown before you pay.

  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices include VAT where applicable.
  • A monthly subscription renews automatically until you cancel it, and you can cancel at any time — access continues to the end of the period you have paid for.
  • A one-time pass does not renew and does not need to be cancelled. It simply expires.
  • We do not refund the unused remainder of a period you have already paid for, except where the law requires it.

If we materially change the price of a plan, we will tell you before it takes effect, and you will be free to cancel.

Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

As a consumer in the EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content, without giving a reason.

When you buy a Seaworth plan you ask us to give you access immediately, and you acknowledge that by doing so you lose your right of withdrawal once we have started to supply the service. We show you this at checkout and record your agreement to it.

If you would rather keep the 14-day withdrawal right, do not use the paid features until it has expired, and email support@seaworthboats.com to withdraw within that window.

Our intellectual property

The valuations, the model behind them, the aggregated and de-duplicated catalogue, and the Seaworth name and branding are ours. Using the service does not transfer any of it to you. You keep whatever rights you have in the content you supply to us.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Seaworth available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we discontinue something you have paid for, we will refund the unused portion of your plan.

Liability

The service is provided as-is, to the fullest extent the law allows. We are not liable for decisions you make on the basis of a valuation, for the accuracy of listing data published by third parties, or for indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer-protection rules. Where our liability can be limited, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of [TODO: jurisdiction], and the courts of [TODO: jurisdiction] have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, or of your right to bring proceedings there.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will give you notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use Seaworth after that means you accept the revised terms.
